Certification & IGI Reports
Why a grading report matters
A grading report is an independent lab's record of a diamond's characteristics. It lets you compare stones fairly and confirms that what you receive matches what you ordered.
IGI
Our center stones are graded by IGI (International Gemological Institute), one of the most widely used labs for lab-grown diamonds. An IGI report lists shape, measurements, carat weight, color, clarity, cut (for rounds), polish, symmetry, fluorescence and the growth method, and states clearly that the stone is laboratory-grown.
Laser inscription
The report number is usually laser-inscribed on the diamond's girdle, invisible to the eye but readable under magnification, so the stone and its report can be matched.
How to verify
- Find the report number on your product page or printed report.
- Enter it on the IGI website's report verification tool.
- Check that the details match your stone.
What about GIA?
GIA now describes lab-grown diamonds with broader quality descriptors rather than full 4C grades. If you would prefer a GIA-assessed stone, contact us and we will look for options.

Certification
Every diamond, independently graded
An IGI report and a laser inscription on the girdle come with every centre stone.

Reading the report
How to read an IGI lab-grown diamond report
An IGI report records the diamond's shape and cutting style, measurements in millimetres, carat weight, colour, clarity and, for round brilliants, cut grade, plus polish, symmetry and fluorescence. It also states that the diamond is laboratory-grown and may note the growth method.
Each STELLIVON diamond listing shows its IGI report number. Check that number on the IGI website before you decide, and make sure the measurements on the report match the stone shown in your sketch.
